In Loving Memory of Yvonne Marie Pierson

Long-time Walnut Springs resident Yvonne Marie Pierson, passed away in Pearland, Texas on December 11th, 2020 at the age of 91. Born Yvonne Marie Polnack on July 9th, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Albert F. Polnack Jr. and Ruth Marie Polnack. She had one brother, the late Gerald Don Polnack.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 68 years, Alfred (Al) F. Pierson; son Paul Pierson of Farmers Branch, Texas; daughter Donna Marie Welborn and husband Curtis Welborn of Provo, Utah; and son Douglas Pierson and wife Jana Pierson of Pearland, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

While growing up in Dallas Yvonne graduated Adamson High and worked for A&P Grocery before enrolling in Southern Methodist University. She graduated with honors from SMU, majoring in English with a minor in German. Yvonne met Al in Dallas and the two were married on November 1st, 1952. They moved to Walnut Springs in 1956 after Al took a position as rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

Through the many years of Yvonne’s life she always enjoyed the majestic and rugged mountains of Colorado. Her family vacationed yearly in Colorado from the 1920’s onward with her and Al’s last trip made in 2009. Yvonne enjoyed several years of working for the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office in the 1970s and 80s and her joy of serving her Lord Jesus at Walnut Springs Baptist Church, was made all the sweeter with the many, lifelong friends she made both in the church and the town of Walnut Springs. Yvonne also never met a dog she did not love; often times going up to complete strangers simply to pet their canine friends! She is dearly missed by her family and many loving friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at 10:00 am at Walnut Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor TJ Joyner. Burial will take place at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas following the service.
