Wanda (Marshall) Murphy, age 75, of Cranfills Gap, Texas, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019, peacefully and in the comfort of her home. She was born on Saturday, July 1, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to Ralph and Alfreda (Locktifelt) Marshall.
Wanda grew up in Dayton, Ohio where she would meet the love of her life, Rick Murphy. Long before they began dating, they had their first communion together at the age of 7 years old at Queen of Martyrs church of Dayton. Their courtship began when they were 20 years old and they got married on Saturday, July 2, 1966. Together they raised two children, son Benjamin and daughter Christine, of whom they were extremely proud. They immensely enjoyed the pride they had as their family grew to include four wonderful grandchildren – all while building a company together, nurturing a Texas Hill Country ranch, and crossing world travel adventures off of their bucket list.
Wanda loved spending her time at her ranch with her cowboy (Rick), her children and most especially creating amazing memories with her cherished grandchildren – as well as special visits from dear family and friends. She could always be found enjoying her roses in bloom, hummingbirds a-buzz, purple martins at play, antiquing, at her fish pond, the company of her frogs, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alfreda Marshall, loyal and caring son Benjamin James Murphy and brother Dale (Beverly) Marshall.
