Tommye Griffin

Tommye Griffin age 75, of Hamilton, Texas passed away early Friday morning, May 13, 2016 at her residence in Hamilton, Texas.

Funeral services are going to be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs, Texas. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the funeral service. Gary Westmoreland will officiate. Burial will be at the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jace Caraway, Adam Frame, Frank Giles, Trey Griffin, T.J. Griffin, and Justin Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Weaver and Kirk Giles.

Tommye Morris Griffin was born on August 30, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Tom Osward and Nellie Mae Kyser Morris. Tommye was raised in the Meridian and Glen Rose area. She graduated from Glen Rose High School in 1958. She worked for Lone Star Gas Co. for 21 years in Arlington, Texas. She married Don Griffin on July 17, 1959 in Glen Rose, Texas. Together the couple had two children Donna and Terry Griffin. Tommye enjoyed retirement at their Hamilton farm, traveling with family, and also spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Don Lesley Griffin of Hamilton; children, Donna Weaver and husband, George, of Oklahoma, Terry Griffin and wife, Annette, of Hamilton; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Morris of Arlington, Texas, Maisie Freeman of Arlington, Texas; and a brother, Michael Morris and wife, Wanda, of Longmout, Colorado.

Preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Nellie Mae Morris; brothers, Jerry and Phillip Morris.
