Sixto "Cecil" Tarango

Sixto "Cecil" Alvarado Tarango age 85 of Meridian, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Waco, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Creech officiating. Burial was in the Meridian Cemetery. A visitation was held from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, May 10, at Lawson Funeral Home

Pallbearers were J. R. Aguilar, David Tarango, Jr., Billy Joe Tarango, Jonathan Vasquez, Joe Carillo and Allen Cardona.

Sixto Alvarado Tarango was born on March 28, 1932 in Whitney, Texas to Juan and Cruz Alvarado Tarango. On Sept. 29, 1947, he was united in marriage to Juanita Felan in Meridian and she preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2016 Cecil worked as a butcher for many years at the Meridian Locker Plant.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his children, Cruz Holcomb of Meridian, Lynda Jane Wilkowski and husband, Steve, of Frazee, Minnesota, Valentine Tarango of Meridian, Larry Joe Tarango and wife, Yolanda, of Cleburne; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
