She was born into humble beginnings as one of twelve siblings, facing the challenges of growing up in poverty. Despite the hardships of her early years, Ruby Jean's life was a testament to her unwavering work ethic, resilience, and dedication to her community.
Ruby Jean's early life involved hard labor as she picked cotton and cut greens to support her family. She was no stranger to the challenges of sharecropping, a testament to her determination to make a better life for herself. Her journey through life took her on diverse paths, each one a reflection of her adventurous spirit and determination to succeed.
She worked for a police department in Mississippi, demonstrating her commitment to public service. Ruby Jean also ventured into the world of truck driving, graduating from the Texarkana truck driving school and embracing the freedom of the open road. Her adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges were truly remarkable.
In 1977, Ruby Jean and her family relocated to Kopperl, Texas, where they would build their new life and create lasting memories together.
Education was a lifelong pursuit for Ruby Jean. She attended real estate school and earned her GED, showcasing her dedication to self-improvement. Her caring nature led her to obtain a CNA license, enabling her to provide compassionate care to the elderly.
Ruby Jean's talents were multifaceted. She successfully ran a store by her house, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and her desire to support her family and community. She also worked for the renowned Levi Strauss, highlighting her versatility in the workforce.
However, one of Ruby Jean's most enduring legacies was her commitment to caring for others. She extended her love and care to the elderly and became a beloved figure in her community, known for nurturing not only her own family but everyone's grandchildren. Her kindness and warmth left an unforgettable mark on the lives of many.
Ruby Jean was married to Jack Randall for an incredible 51 years, and together they raised four children.
Ruby Jean's life exemplified resilience, perseverance, and the limitless potentional of the human spirit. She overcame adversity, embraces new opportunites, and selflessly cared for those around her. Her memory will forever inspire us to live our lives with the same determination, kindness, and unwavering dedication she embodied throughout her journey.
Ruby Jean will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A viewing will be held from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M., Friday, September 22, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Kopperl Cemetery. Ruby Jean's legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and memories. May she rest in eternal peace.
