Rosa Linda Zapata age 71, of Meridian, passed away on November 21, 2024 in Temple, Texas surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Riverside Baptist Church in Meridian. Bro. R.C. Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in the Meridian Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at Lawson Funeral Home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Monday, November 25, 2024. Pallbearers will be Freddie Garza, Paul Murray, Pedro Munoz, Trae Longacre, Gerald Longacre, Rosie Zapata, Aiden Bailey and Andrew Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sergio Garcia and Brian Stratton.
Rosa Linda Zapata was born on December 1, 1952 in Burnet, Texas to Alfredo Castillo and Paula Alvarado. She met Juan Zapata in McGregor, Texas and they were married for over 50 years. The couple lived out their dream of owning their own business. Starting Zapatas Mexican Restaurant in Meridian and operating it for over 20 years before turning it over to her daughters. Rosa was a small lady but her attitude and determination was large. She will be truly missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Dolores Munoz, Maryhellen Murray, Liliana Garza, Rosie Zapata; sons-in-law, Andy, Pedro, Paul, Gerald, Freddie; grandchildren, Andrew, Aiden, Sara, Alberto, Daniela, Norberto, Charly, Violeta, Jasmin, Maya, Trae, Jaclynn, Rey, Victor, Aiden, Brian; great-grandchildren, Ivan, Sophia, Gracie, Izmael, Mylene and Melah; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Zapata; and daughter, Maria Zapata.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
