Roland Lee Ledbetter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, in Waco, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 20, 1947, in Waco, Texas, where he spent a few years of his life before moving and making Cranfills Gap his home.
Roland's education began in Waco, where he attended school for several years before embarking on a life that would lead him to work as a farmer and rancher starting at the young age of 15. His deep connection to agricultural life defined much of who he was, nurturing not only the land but also the relationships that flourished around it.
A person who truly relished the great outdoors, Roland found joy in simple pleasures like riding his lawnmower and admiring the beauty of nature. His interests reflected a man who appreciated the world around him and lived life with an open heart.
Roland leaves behind his devoted wife, Patsy Ledbetter, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. He is also survived by his cherished children: Jennifer Straley, Richard Banner, Finis Banner, and Michael Banner. His legacy continues through three beloved grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit and values. Roland is predeceased by his father, W.D. Ledbetter, and he is survived by his mother, Mildred Ledbetter, as well as his brothers, Randall Ledbetter and Randy Ledbetter. Roland's family ties extended beyond immediate relations, including numerous other relatives and friends who admired him greatly.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Roland's life during the visitation on August 27, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lawson Funeral Home located at 803 N Main St, Meridian, Texas 76665. A graveside service will follow on August 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Fairy Cemetery on FM Rd 1602 in Fairy, Texas.
Roland Lee Ledbetter will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his love for nature, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will live on in the memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
