Robert Alfred Hall, age 81, of Valley Mills, passed away peacefully Friday evening, February 21, 2014, at his ranch home.
Graveside funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in the Valley Mills Cemetery with Chaplain Greg Knippe and Rev. William C. Treadwell officiating. Masonic graveside rites were by the John Armstrong Lodge #291, Valley Mills, Texas.
Robert was born September 21, 1932, in Waco, Texas to Fred Hall, Sr. and Grace Myrick Hall. He attended school in Waco and graduated from Baylor University in 1954 with a degree in finance. Mr. Hall was a member of Waco Masonic Lodge #92, a member of The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and a member of the Associated General Contractors of American. Robert spent several years building roads throughout the State of Texas before devoting himself full-time to ranching in Valley Mills. At his ranch, Robert continued his father's tradition of raising both Black Angus cattle and American bison. His bison were a particular source of enjoyment for him, with some being so gentle that they would eat watermelon out of his hand.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, JoAnn Hall, of Valley Mills; children, Heidi Hall Bass of Dallas, Audrey Hall of Phoenixville, Pa., and Robert Hall, Jr. of Wylie, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Bass, and Timothy and Hannah Hall; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Timothy Hall, Jr.; step-sons, Boots Kretzmeier of Valley Mills, Texas and Rudy Kretzmeier and wife, Connie, of Plano. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hall, Jr.
