Noemi Martinez Alvarado

Noemi Martinez Alvarado, 84 years of age, passed on Thursday October 3, 2024 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Facility, Whitney, TX.

Noemi was born July 15, 1940 in Francisco I. Madero Coahuila Mexico to the late Esteban and Nazaria Martinez. She was the second child of ten children five proceed her in death. She is also proceeded in death by her daughter, Martha Martinez, Son, Jorge Leal, and granddaughter, Guadalupe Martinez.

In 1977, Noemi made a life change to move to Texas where she met her late husband Pedro Alvarado a few years later. In 1980, they settled down in Meridian, Texas on the "turkey farm."  Noemi professed her life to God in 1989 and became a dedicated soldier for the Lord. She would gather as many people to load in her van and commute to Hillsboro, TX at least twice a week to bring them to hear the word of God. Her dedication and faith to God was strong and spread to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.  Noemi loved to read her bible, listen to Christian music, praying for and with others, spending time with her family, laughing, and cooking. She was a caring and generous person, devoted wife, mother and friend, always thinking of others. She always had room for anyone that needed a place to stay no matter the length of time and always somehow was able to feed everyone. Noemi loved to cook and bake. She will forever be remembered for her homemade bread, tamales, and mole.  

Noemi leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Rosie Guerrero and Steve Leal, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 4 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will take place at 10 A.M., Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian, Texas. Pastor Juan Abrego will officiate. Burial will be in the Meridian Memorial Cemetery following the service. Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Lawson Funeral Home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. 

Noemí Martínez Alvarado, de 84 años, falleció el jueves 3 de octubre de 2024 en el Centro de Enfermería Town Hall Estates, Whitney, TX.

Noemí nació el 15 de julio de 1940 en Francisco I. Madero, Coahuila, México, hija de Esteban y Nazaria Martínez. Fue la segunda hija de diez hermanos, cinco de los cuales fallecieron. También le preceden en la muerte su hija, Martha Martínez, su hijo, Jorge Leal, y su nieta, Guadalupe Martínez.

En 1977, Noemí hizo un cambio de vida para mudarse a Texas, donde conoció a su difunto esposo Pedro Alvarado unos años más tarde. En 1980, se establecieron en Meridian, Texas, en la "granja de pavos".

Noemí profesó su vida a Dios en 1989 y se convirtió en una soldado dedicada al Señor. Ella reunía a la mayor cantidad de personas para cargarlas en su camioneta y viajar a Hillsboro, TX al menos dos veces por semana para llevarlas a escuchar la palabra de Dios. Su dedicación y fe a Dios fueron fuertes y se extendieron a sus hijos, nietos, familiares y amigos.

A Noemí le encantaba leer la biblia, escuchar música cristiana, orar por y con los demás, pasar tiempo con su familia, reír y cocinar. Era una persona cariñosa y generosa, esposa, madre y amiga devota, siempre pensando en los demás. Siempre tenía espacio para cualquiera que necesitara un lugar para quedarse, sin importar la cantidad de tiempo y siempre de alguna manera podía alimentar a todos. A Noemí le encantaba cocinar y hornear. Siempre será recordada por su pan casero, tamales y mole.

Noemí deja para atesorar su memoria amorosa a sus hijos, Rosie Guerrero y Steve Leal; 8 nietos, 15 bisnietos, 4 tataranietos, 4 hermanos y una gran cantidad de sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo a las 10 a.m. el miércoles 9 de octubre de 2024 en la capilla de la funeraria Lawson en Meridian, Texas. Oficiará el pastor Juan Abrego. El entierro será en el Cementerio Meridian Memorial después del servicio. La familia recibirá visitas el martes 8 de octubre de 2024 en la Funeraria Lawson de 6 p.m. a 8 p.m.
