Nancy Faye Ryals Holder

Nancy Faye Ryals Holder, age 98, of Gouldbusk, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018, in a Coleman, Texas hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in the Nancy Smith Cemetery near Glen Rose, Texas.  Rev. Cole farmer officiating.

Nancy was born January 17, 1920, in Glen Rose, Texas, a daughter of James and Stella  Cecil Wood Ryals.  When she was 2, she moved with her family to New Mexico in a covered wagon.  Several years later she returned to Bosque County where she lived for many years.  On February 13, 1937, she married John Holder in Glen Rose and he preceded her in death in 1974. She told her remembrance of the Great Depression and the  dust bowl days.  Nancy Faye had 4 children and was a homemaker tending to her family.  She always had a garden, livestock and enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing. .  Nancy Faye was a member of the Rockwood Baptist church in Rockwood, Texas.

She is survived by a daughter, Daisy Marie Jackson of Gouldbusk; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Daisy May of El Paso and Dora May Singleton of Whitney; brother, J B. Ryals of Mooringsport, Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John Holder; parents, James and Stella Cecil Ryals; children, John D. Holder, James R. Holder, Nancy C. Holder Weston; sisters, Tommy Jean McNeal, Della Marie Dowell; brothers, Howard and David J. Ryals.
