She was born on January 9,1942 to Boss and Mamie Hadley. She was raised in Godley, TX on Hadley Hill with six sisters and one brother. She was the youngest of all of the siblings. Mirtie loved and appreciated all of her family members. Wonderful memories were always made when the family, especially the sisters, got together.
She is preceded in death by parents, Boss and Mamie Hadley; brother, W.B. Hadley; sisters, Maxine Hadley Cooper, Janice Hadley Patterson, Naomi Hadley Collett, and Dolores Hadley Bowden.
Mirtie worked many years at General Dynamics as an Electrical Assembly worker on F-16 Fighter Jets. She met Donald Morris on a Rideshare going to work. They fell in love and were married on February 29, 1980. They made their home in Kopperl, Texas until they moved to Oklahoma later in life, to be closer to family. She and Donald retired together in 1989. They loved living life together and were inseparable. Don has shown incredible compassion and love as he has cared for Mirtie as her health was deteriorating. He has been by her side and helped her in any way that he could, every step of the way, and all the way until the end.
Mirtie enjoyed gardening, car rides and eating ice cream. She also enjoyed her “sister” weekends and loved to re-live the memories of crazy antics, laughter and family love. Mirtie enjoyed hanging out with her family. She was always willing to surprise the family with her spontaneous dancing, riding tricycles, and spunky attitude.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Morris; daughter, Pam McDaniel, (Fiancé, Butch Akers); grandchildren, Loren Russell and husband, John, Terry Bogart and wife, Nichole, and Christina Bogart and Ben Detjen; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
