Mildred G. Aikman age 71, of Rio Vista, passed away on September 26, 2022 in Waxahachie, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Meridian United Pentecostal Church. Rev. DeWaun Ashley and Rev. John Howard will officiate. Visitation will be from 7:30 P.M. until 9:30 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian.
Mildred G. Aikman was born on May 4, 1951 in Meridian to Opal and RT Townley. She graduated from Glen Rose high school. She married the love of her life, Lonnie Aikman in 1973. Mildred retired from working in Dietary management. After retirement she spent her time with her loving husband Lonnie Aikman. They often spent days sitting on the porch watching the birds and tending to her flowers. Mildred spent the rest of her free time baking. She enjoyed cooking for the people she loved. One thing you never had to worry about was leaving her home with an empty stomach. Mildred was a kind and loving soul. She poured her heart into everything she did and always made time for people who mattered. Often times you could find Mildred holding a camera at family gatherings. She was always sure to capture the memories. Mildred was a phenomenal women whose life impacted many. Her grace and love will continue to live on in the family she left behind.
Mildred is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Aikman; children, Sherry Dowdy and husband, Justin, Lisa Moore and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Marc Weaver, Colton Dowdy, Caleb Moore and wife, Patsy, Gabrielle Moore and fiance', Lane Pilcher, Joshua Moore and girlfriend, Kylie Woodruff; sisters, Janette Aikman and Barbara Bourquin; brothers, Daniel Townley and Robert Townley; sisters-in-law, Jamie Aikman, Judy Aikman, Carla Townley, Patsy Townley, Connie Townley and Carrie Townley; brothers-in-law, Carrol Aikman, Lloyd Aikman, Janson Aikman, Jerry Aikman, Oannie Aikman and Elton Aikman; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Townley and Randal Townley; sisters, Carolyn Douglas and Shirley Mason; brothers-in-law, Mike Bourquin and Edward Mason.
