Merler Dennis Edge, 87, of Dallas, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2015, in a Dallas care facility.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2015, in the Memorial Methodist Church in Walnut Springs, Texas, with the pastor, Rev. Ken Berry, officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Pallbearers were David Boyd, Damon Boyd, Jason Dann, Jordan Dann, Clint Pullin, and Cody Pullin.
He was born in Waco, Texas, on October 23, 1927 and was the only son of Merler and Gladys "Dick" Edge. He grew up in Walnut Springs and served in the U. S. Navy Reserves at the end of WW II. He moved to Dallas in the late 1940's and married Billye Hellums in 1951. Dennis had a long career working for the Lone Star Gas Company, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son, Mike Edge of Ft. Worth; daughter, Ginger Dann and husband, Mark, of Dallas; grandsons, Jason and Jordan Dann; number of other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and his sister, Jill Casey Dickson.
