Melba Joyce Fulton age 87, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on March 31, 2022 at her residence in Meridian.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Rev. Richard Creech will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. She will lie in state on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9 A.M. until 3 P.M. Pallbearers are going to be Emil Fritz, Douglas Fritz, Mike Fritz,Tony Fritz, Chad Giles and Shane Giles.
Born March 28, 1935 to Otto Vivien Appleton and Alma Lee Boyd in Abilene, Texas. She married the love of her life James Kenneth "JK" Fulton in Weatherford, Texas on October 5, 1961. Melba became a Cosmetologist and worked in several beauty shops in the Fort Worth area. She discovered her love of working with her hands and making all sorts of crafts and beautiful arrangements. Melba went on to manage flowers shops at Greenwood, Mt. Olivet and Moore Funeral Homes. Her years working with families, enforced her compassion and loving spirit in caring for others. In later years she worked visitations for Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. After JK retired, they moved to Meridian in Bosque County. They were involved in several churches and were helpful in founding Lighthouse Baptist Church in Meridian. Melba discovered her love of singing and was in the church choir and performed in many Cantatas and 5th Sunday Singings at various churches. She had a special kind of sparkle, she never met a stranger, giving compliments to everyone she passed, in restaurants, stores or even in the middle of the street. She truly left a sparkle and a beautiful smile to all.
Melba loved her family. They were her true love and joy in life. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Donna O'Neal of Meridian; sons, Emil Fritz and wife, Rosanna, of Alvarado, Mike Fritz of Meridian, Douglas Fritz of Fort Worth; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Kenneth "JK" Fulton; son, Gordon Steven Fritz; brother, Douglas Otto Appleton; father, Otto Vivien Appleton; and mother, Alma Lee Boyd.
