Mary Ann Kawa

Mary Ann Kawa age 64, of Meridian, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2022 in Clifton, Texas.

Visitation will take place at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, November 15, 2022 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.

Mary Ann Kawa was born on December 9, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence J. and Florence Frances Parys Kawa. She was educated in a Catholic School in Omaha. After graduation she attended Creighton University in Omaha to obtain her degree in nursing. Mary dropped out right before getting her degree to start her long journey in the food service industry which she loved. Mary owned and operated her own food service business for a number of years. She followed her husband, Curtis Johnson all over while still maintaining her business. Mary and Curtis met in California 20 plus years ago and married on December 12, 2012. Mary had a heart for the food service industry and serving her customers. Her most recent job was at Brookshire Brothers in Meridian, Texas where she ran the deli and served her customers on a daily basis. Other then her husband, the store was her life.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Curtis Johnson;  brothers: Larry Kawa(Shari); Joe Kawa(Sue); Jim Kawa(Kathy); nephews and niece: Jon,Matt (Amanda),Kathryn, Kevin(Elizabeth);grand nephews: Ben & Nate.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
