Lula Ann Damron Morrison age 78 of Walnut Springs, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Glen Rose, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church with Rev. T.J. Joyner officiating. Burial will be at the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Judson Morrison, Rick Hunter, Steve Hunter, Chas Walts, T.J. Tweedle, and Robert Morrison.
Lula Ann Damron was born on October 30, 1938 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Marshall and Thelma Eugenia Parker Damron. She graduated high school from Walnut Springs. After graduation she went to work for South Western Bell Telephone Company for a few months before enrolling in TCU. Ann graduated from TCU with a BA degree in Education. After she graduated from TCU her and Garland decided to get married. To this marriage one son was born, Keith. The couple moved to Arlington where Ann started teaching and coaching at Carter Junior High School. While at Carter Junior High she was a PE teacher and coached girls volleyball, basketball, and track for 12 years. She then went to Bowie High School where she was the head girls coach for several years before they closed. After leaving Bowie High School she took a job at Sam Houston High School where she taught Social Studies and U.S. History. Ann retired from teaching after 39 years. After Garland and Ann both retired they decided to move to Walnut Springs where they have lived for a number of years. She became a member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church as a teenager. After retiring she became an active member on numerous committees in the church. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 60 years.
Left behind to cherish her memories are husband, Robert Garland Morrison of Walnut Springs; son, Keith Morrison of Walnut Springs; grandchildren, Robert Morrison and wife, Kate, of Stephenville, Laurie Tweedle and husband, T.J., of Jacksboro; great-grandsons, Charlie and Landon Tweedle; sister, Valdeen McCall and husband, Douglas, of Arlington; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Thelma Eugenia Parker Damron; and mother-in-law, Mildred Morrison on March 3, 2017.
