Linda Carol Allen Martin age 74, of Grapevine, passed away suddenly on March 4, 2022 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., March 10, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Bro. Richard Creech will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until service time on March 10, 2022. Funeral services will also be held at 10 A.M., March 12, 2022 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Entombment will be in the Bluebonnet Hills Mausoleum.
Linda Carol Allen was born on June 15, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas. From the moment she was born weighing only 4 pounds 10 ounces she let everyone know she had arrived and started to enjoy life with a happy spirit. She was so small she went to live with her wonderful grandparents, Lula and LB Allen. Her two uncles, George Elwood and William Allen and aunt, Estrell all helped care for her. In later years she was able to return this kindness and love by taking care of her aunt and uncles whom she loved dearly. There were many blessing during her years of living on their family farm during her growing up years. Linda graduated from Clifton High School in 1966. After graduation she went to MCC Business College and after a year worked at Providence Hospital in Waco as a Unit Secretary. It was during this time period she met the love of her life, Thomas Franklin Martin who was attending Baylor University. She married Thomas Franklin Martin in 1967. After getting married she went back to college to become and RN. In 2004, Linda chose to be baptized in the creek that ran thru the property because of the Christian values her family instilled in her throughout the years. Family was everything to Linda. She never met a stranger and would light up a room with her beautiful smile. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Thomas Allen Martin and wife, Shana; daughter, Angela Helen-Martin Brown and husband, Rob; granddaughters, Alexis Martin and Audrey Paxton; grandson, Nathaniel Cleaver; sister, Joyce Nobis; brother, Michael Campbell; sisters-in-law, Clara Hall and husband, Mike, Barbara Bean; nephews, Boyd Hall, John T. Hall, Bryan Bean and Bruce Bean; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Justice and Eleanor Allen; grandparents, Lula and LB Allen; husband, Thomas Franklin Martin; aunt, Estrell Allen; brother, Danny Wayne Lewis; father-in-law, Thomas Bill Martin; mother-in-law, Helen Martin; uncles, George Elwood and William Allen.
