Leonard B. Gilbreath, 92, of Walnut Springs, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 8, 2018 in Granbury, Texas.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M., Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs, with Minister Ken Tinsley, Leo Mays, and Bondey Mays officiating.
Mr. Gilbreath was born September 30, 1925 in Stamford, Jones County, Texas to Louis Breckenridge Gilbreath and Willie Mae Williams Gilbreath. The Gilbreath family moved to Bosque County when Leonard was about 6 years old. He was educated at Willow Springs and lived next door to the school house. He married Ruby Ernestine Damron on October 22, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas. Leonard worked at Convair, General Dynamics, and then to Lockheed Martin for 40 years. He retired to his farm, just south of Walnut Springs, to farm and ranch, loving the outdoors and the animals on their farm. Leonard was a very faithful member of the Iredell Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Damron Gilbreath; children, Brenda Johnson and husband, Dicky, and Darrell Gilbreath and wife, Treca; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. B. and Willie Mae Gilbreath; siblings, Oleta Gilbreath, Viola Carr, Sidney Gilbreath, and Bobby Gene Gilbreath.
