Leon Roedell

Leon "Rip" Roedell age 79, of Meridian, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 10, 2018 in Waco, Texas.

A Rosary will be held at Lawson Funeral Home at 6:30 P.M., January 12, 2018. Mass will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Clifton, Texas.

"Rip" was born on August 8, 1938 in Winton, California. He was a Chief Electrician Mate (EMC) in the United States Navy. After he retired from the Navy, he worked and retired from Merced County Maintenance. His next venture came out of his love for cooking and BBQ. He owned Catering Express which he retired from and then moved to Meridian. In Meridian he enjoyed working at Ace Hardware. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking for others, gardening and going to the casinos.

He is survived by his 3 children, son, Patrick Roedell and (Lala) of Wichita Falls, Texas, son, Greg Roedell and (Kristi) of Alpine, California, and daughter, Suzy Roedell (Blue) of Salina, California; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; close friend and our family angel, Josie Sims; many loving extended family and a friend to all.
