Leah Faye Finley age 87 of Walnut Springs, passed away on March 9, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church with Pastor T.J. Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Friday, March 12, 2021 also at the Church. Pallbearers will be Brandon Finley, Jody Valero, Brandon Glaesmann, Dustin Bearden, Daniel Mounce, Keaton Gwin and Ayden Valero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brazos and Joe Finley.
Leah Faye Finley was born on November 10, 1933 in Walnut Springs, Texas to John Bunyon Mounce, Sr. and Bonnie Baucom. She was raised and educated in Walnut Springs and graduated from Walnut Springs in 1951 and continued education graduatingfrom 4C College in Waco, Texas. She married her High School Sweetheart, Gordon Leo Finley in February 12, 1955 in Burleson, Texas. They resided in Waco, Texas raising three sons before moving back to Walnut Springs where she lived out the rest of her life. She was a member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Steve Finley and wife, Glenda, Gordon Wayne Finley and wife, Cindy; nephew that was like her son, David Mounce and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Brandon, Crystal, Megan, Dayna, Kacy and Courtney; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, G.L. Finley; son, Joe Dean Finley; best friend, Jean Mounce; brother and sisters, JB Mounce, Weldon Mounce, Jean WIlliams and Lea Dameron.
Arrangements were made by Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
