Larry Walker Passed away June 30th at his home in Kopperl Texas after a short battle with cancer. He was born on May 2, 1955 in Clinton, Indiana. His parents were Harry and Bertha Walker, he has 4 siblings (Debbie, Lucy, Gary and Harry Jr. who passed away at birth).
Larry had a typical up bringing for the era. He loved the outdoors, loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. As a young man he worked with his father at the family business. He learned the trade of Sheet metal and spent the rest of his life making a successful career out of it.
Larry was married to Karen (Kinney) Walker to whom he joined in union on June of 1984. He has 4 children (Shawn, Ashley, Robi and Rusty). He is a devout family man, putting family above all others. He is a grandfather to 10 grandchildren. Larry has a long list of friends and colleagues that he treats as family.
In later life Larry enjoyed working on his ranch, spending time with friends and family, hunting, fishing with his son Rusty, helping his wife in her passion for making pottery and also drinking beer.
Larry was one of the hardest workers ever set upon this earth. A humble man, he’d rarely speak of his own success, but took great pride in being able to run his beloved business with his father Harry Walker and best friend Rick Troup. Larry cherished his responsibility and enjoyed being able to work with such amazing people. His steady presence will be deeply missed.
Larry lived his life with a gratitude, devotion, love of God, and mischievous joy that few have achieved. He taught his family to work hard, to be fair and honest, and love the hardest. The light that his life has brought his family will continue to live on for generations to come.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
