Larry Mickelson

Larry Floyd Mickelson, age 74, of Iredell, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap, Texas with Pastor Joan Iker and Pastor Gordon Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Olaf Lutheran (Rock Church) Cemetery in Cranfills Gap. There will be a visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas. Pallbearers will be Chad Henderson, Adam Walther, Gary Young, Gary Collins, Blake Henderson, and Chris Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Flory and Edward Herbert.

Mr. Mickelson was born on October 30, 1940 in Meridian, Texas to Floyd Carl and Virgie Irene Hovend Mickelson. Larry lived in Cranfills Gap up until he was in the 9th grade. The family moved and lived in Arlington where he graduated from Arlington High School in 1959. He was a longtime banker in Arlington for 35 years. He later moved back to Iredell and started an Insulation business. Larry loved spending time on his farm, close to where he grew up, which he always called "God's Country."

He is survived by his wife: Yvonne Feusier Mickelson of Iredell; daughters: Jill Henderson and husband, Bret, of Colleyville, Julie Hinds of Arlington; grandchildren: Chad, Blake, Shea Henderson, Adam Walther; sister: Dana Collins and husband, Gary, of Arlington; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Virgie Hovend Mickelson; and a sister: Sandra Jean Sinor.
