LaMona Boyd

LaMona Joyce Low Boyd, age 82, of Iredell, passed away early Sunday morning, November 24, 2013, at her daughter's residence in Georgetown.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P. M., Wednesday, November 27 at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian with Rev. Don Caldwell officiating. Interment was in the Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell. Pallbearers were Chris Graves, Max Boyd, Jr., Tucker Boyd, Dillon Mobley, Hunter Boyd, and Bryan Boyd.

Mrs. Boyd was born February 1, 1931 in Menard, Texas to Ottis Tom and Dona Lavern Branum Low. She was raised and educated in the Menard school systems and graduated from Menard High School. Later she attended John Tarleton College in Stephenville. She married W. E. Boyd, Jr. on March 31, 1950 in Iredell and lived all of their married life in Iredell. She worked as a clerk in the Iredell Post Office, and later served as postmistress.

Survivors include her children: Billy Boyd of Iredell; Linda Graves of Georgetown; Larry Boyd and wife, Lezlie, of Tyler; Lowell Boyd and wife, Kathy, of Georgetown; and Max Boyd, Sr. of Iredell
Grandchildren: Christopher Graves and wife, Alison; Amy Graves Schroeder; Bryan Boyd; Hunter Boyd; Tucker Boyd; Max Boyd, Jr. and wife, Misty; Leslie Boyd Mobley and husband, Dillon; Cassie Salyver Howard and husband, Jason
Great-grandchildren: Alaina Graves; Carter Graves; Landon Schroeder; Preston Schroeder; Jade Howard; Jack Howard; Gavin Boyd
Brother: Lawan Ottis Low and wife, Pat, of Waco
A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends

Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lavern Low; and her husband, W. E. Boyd, Jr.
