Kenneth W. Schrank, age 71, of Meridian passed away on April 6, 2016 in Waco, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church: 911 W. 3rd St., Clifton, Texas 76634 with Rev. Brian McQuiggin officiating. Interment was at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, 1446 FM 3340, Hamilton, Texas 76531. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas.
Pallbearers were Rodney Schrank, Travis Ehrlich, Scott Miller, Keith Morrison, Mark Kohler, and Todd Miller. Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Irwin, Charlie Blue, Earl Royal, Phillip Munden, Raymond Whitney, Bob Patton, Ernie Reinke, Weldon Hamilton, Johnny Hauerland, and the men of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Kenneth W. Schrank was born on August 14, 1944 in Hamilton, Texas to Eldor Rudolph and Ada Minnie Emilie Krueger Schrank. Kenneth had lived in Meridian for the past 40 years where he worked for the Soil and Water Conservation Service. He was very active in the Meridian Lions Club as well as the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas. He was an integral part of the Bosque County Hay Show as well as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo serving the community and raising scholarships for youth. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clifton, Texas. He married Sandra Sue "Dockie" Sanford on April 6, 1968, and she passed away on Sept. 26, 1999. In 2002, he married Mary Ann Harper Parton in Clifton, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Parton Schrank of Meridian; daughter, Amber Ehrlich and husband, Sam, of Sequin; son, Cody Schrank and wife, Callie, of Waco; grandson, Cru Schrank of Waco; step-sons, Loyd Parton and wife, Lora, of Meridian, Stephen Parton and wife, Melissa, of Amarillo; step-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Caitlyn; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Schrank; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldor Rudolph and Ada Minnie Emilie Krueger Schrank; siblings, Virginia, Yvonne, Joyce, and Ronald; along with his step-son, Darrel Parton.
