Kathryn Ann (Morrow) Autrey

Kathryn Ann Autrey age 87 of Granbury and formerly of Meridian, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 in Granbury, Texas.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Friday, November 16, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Rev. George Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Lawson Funeral Home.

Kathryn Ann Morrow was born on October 1, 1931 in Fort Worth, Texas to Fred and Pauline Gabbert Morrow. She married Welton Cantrell Autrey on September 21, 1947 in Smithfiled, following his service in the Pacific Arena, during World War II. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Meridian. Kathryn was a founding member/original member of SW Bluegrass Club. She was also a Gold Circle Member with the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and also the Eastern Star. Kathryn was a retired secretary, who once worked as Bursar for the downtown campus of Tarrant County Jr. College. She could play the piano by ear, with concentration and joy. During her free time she enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Helping Hands. She loved her cat Sister, who became her closest companion during the last few years of her life. Kathryn was known for her puns and dry sense of humor. She often surprised people with her quick wit.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Rhonda Tarbell; son, Byron K. Autrey; granddaughters, Elissa Tarbell Bourland, Sheri Autrey, and Christy Raymor; 5 great-grandchildren; number of other relatives and close friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Pauline Gabbert Morrow; husband, Welton Cantrell Autrey; son, Fletcher Autrey; and brothers, Fred Morrow, Jr., Leland Morrow, Carroll Morrow, and Bennett Morrow.
