Karen Avis Strahan, 75, of Glen Rose, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 in a Fort Worth Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A. M., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Lawson Memorial Chapel, 127 6th Street, Walnut Springs, Texas 76690. A visitation is planned for 10:00 A. M. until the service time at 11:00, also at Lawson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Walnut Springs. Pallbearers will be Clayton Strahan, David Strahan, Joshua Strahan, Shawn Strahan, Jimbo Stewart, and Larry Oddo.
Karen was born September 28, 1943 in Alice, Texas to Vernon and Lillie Mae Cleveland Long. After graduating from high school, she attended college. She managed restaurants throughout her life. Karen was of the Baptist faith and teachings.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Canady, of Glen Rose; her daughter, Sherryl Strahan of San Antonio; her son, Clayton Strahan of Walnut Springs; her sister, Barbara Galloway of Weatherford; and her brother, Neal Long of Leming; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
