Jose R. Espino, age 80, of Glen Rose, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 8, 2017, at his residence near Glen Rose after an extended illness.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow, near Glen Rose with Pastor J. J. Jennings officiating. Pallbearers were Ben Nystel, Joe Espino, Ronald Lewis, Adrian Lewis, Martin Espino and Abraham Munguia.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian.
Jose was born July 4, 1937, in Zacatecas, Mexico, a son of the late Francisco Espino
and Martina Martinez Espino. He grew up in Mexico and moved to Texas in 1970, settling in Glen Rose where he owned Espino Fencing. Jose was a Catholic. He married Rosa Martha Rabago on August 25, 1959, in Acuna, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Martha, of Glen Rose; daughters, Rosa Linda Espino of Glen Rose, Yolanda Espino of Glen Rose and Nancy Lewis and husband, Ronald, of Glen Rose; sons, Martin Espino and wife, Roseanne, of Glen Rose and Joe Espino and wife, Diana, of Waco; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings and a granddaughter, Coco Rose Espino.
