Janice Carol Kellar age 67 of Clifton, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at her residence in Clifton.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Clifton Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Creech officiating.

Janice Carol Copeland, was born on January 18, 1950 in Waco, Tx. Her parents, Don and Jeanne Copeland moved the family from Waco to Hurst, TX. when she was 6 years old. She attended Hurst public schools and graduated from L. D. Bell High School. She got her bachelor degree in Fine Arts at Texas Wesleyan University. She proved to be a very talented actress as well as a singer and performed leading roles in TWU’s musical dramas.

Janice, and her older sister, Jeanne were a singing duet known as The Two J’s. From a young age, they performed in shows and special events in the DFW area. In their teenage years, they were featured in Six Flags Over Texas’ live shows and Casa Manana theater productions.

After college, Janice pursued a solo career and became a featured actress and singer in Branson, Missouri. She performed solos and comedy routines with Mickey Gilley, Roy Clark, Andy Williams, and Jim Stafford productions. She was best known for her years of comedy and vocal performance with Ray Stevens’ live show. Ray also featured Janice in his popular music videos. Before retiring, Janice fulfilled a dream of hers. She wrote, produced and performed her own Branson show called, “Branson Divas.

Janice accepted Christ as her Savior as a youth. She and her sister loved to sing about the Lord Jesus Christ in their home church, Bellevue Baptist. They also sang for revivals and large outdoor evangelistic meetings. After finishing High School, Janice was recruited for a Christian Musical group that toured and sang in many states.

Janice married Don Kellar May 22, 1984 and they resided in Branson for many years until they both retired and returned back to Texas 2012.

Janice Copeland Kellar went to be with Jesus on September 9, 2017.

She is survived by her husband, Don Kellar, her father, Don Copeland, her daughter, Jennifer Kellar, Her sister, and brother-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Rogers, and nephews, Kyle, Jerrod, and Reagan Rogers. She was preceded by her mother, Doris Jeanne Copeland.
