James John Vara, Jr., born on September 23, 1998, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. James was known for being a hard worker, always willing to do what was necessary to provide for those he loved. His dedication to providing for his family was matched only by his vibrant personality, making him the life of the party and a social butterfly who never met a stranger.
James received his education from Glen Rose ISD, attending from 2003 until 2013, before transferring to Walnut Springs ISD, where he graduated in 2017. Throughout his life, James cherished moments spent with friends, often enjoying activities such as playing pool, drinking beer, and simply hanging out. His warm spirit and infectious laughter created lasting memories for those fortunate enough to know him.
James leaves behind his parents, James and Venus Vara; his children, Liz Dawson and Jasper Graham; his brother, Peyton Chappel and his wife Adreanna, and brother, Jack Brumley; nieces, Eva Smith and Charlie Smith; nephew, Waylon Vara, along with a nephew on the way, James Chappell; his fiancé, Vanessa Covey; and his maternal grandfather, Ed Brumley. He also leaves behind his biological maternal grandmother, Gloria Chappell; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends who will remember him fondly.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Bonifacio Vara and Mary Vara; his maternal grandmother, Sharlene "Babea" York; his biological mother, Helen Chappell; and his biological maternal grandfather, Monroe Chappell.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Walnut Springs on November 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on November 18, 2024, at the Walnut Springs ISD Auditorium, starting at 2:00 PM. Pastor TJ Joyner will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs.
James John Vara, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit, kindness, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
