Ione Delores Nelson

Ione Delores Nelson, age 81, of Iredell, passed away on June 27, 2024, at home in Iredell, Texas, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Graveside services will take place at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2024, at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas. Fr. Claudius Mndolwa SAC will officiate.

Ione was born on March 22, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Mary Chancellor. Ione was dedicated to her family, they were her pride and joy. She loved life and laughing. She took special joy in her hobbies including sewing and working in her yard taking care of her flowers. Ione loved to travel, but she especially enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. Ione loved going to church and studying the Bible. One of her favorite passages was 23rd Psalms.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Shelley Morrison, and son Roy Morrison (daughter in law Lori), grandchildren, Elizabeth, William and Roxxann; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Oliver; brother, James Chancellor and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father of her children, John Roy Morrison, and second husband and love of her life, W. L. Nelson (Bill).

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
