Gwindle Lee (Williams) Belknap Chasteen

Gwindle Lee Belknap Chasteen age 82, of Dublin, passed away in Stephenville, Texas on January 26, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M., Monday, January 31, 2022 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian.Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell. Bro. Richard Creech will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., Sunday, January 30, 2022 also at Lawson Funeral Home.

Gwindle Lee Williams was born on September 25, 1939 in Morgan, Texas to Charlie Chesley and Mary Lee Talley Williams. She lived in Iredell until the early 1990's whenever she moved to Glen Rose for a short while before she built a house in Stephenville. After her first husband, Walter Wray Belknap passed away in 1988 she married Lavelle Chasteen sometime later. The couple moved frequently before finally settling and making a home in Brownwood. Gwindle loved her puzzle games, angels and her roosters. Most of all she loved her family but she was very partial to her great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Debbie Noel and husband, Michael, of Proctor, Teddie Holmes and husband, Darrell, of Bluff Dale, Patty Hill and husband, Billy, of Stephenville, J.L. Chasteen and wife, Mona; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Allen and husband, Bobby Joe, of Cleburne; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Chesley Williams and Mary Lee and Morris Allen; husband, Walter Wray Belknap; second husband, Lavelle Chasteen; siblings, Nadine White, Bobby Williams and Milton Williams.
