Georgia Ann Kelley, age 79, of Whitney and a former long time resident of Clifton, passed away Tuesday evening in Whitney, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 20, at the Bosque County Cowboy Church on SH#6, between Meridian and Clifton, with Minister Welton "Red" Watson officiating. Burial was in the Clifton Memorial Park.
A visitation was held from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian.
Georgia was born February 19, 1936, in Jones Prairie, Texas, a daughter of the late George Newton Smith and Katherine Ann Young Smith. She married W. L. "Red" Kelley, Sr. on January 7, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas. He passed away on May 26, 2012. She was a homemaker all of her life taking care of all 8 children. Georgia was a pastor's wife, seamstress for many years for her grandkids and also enjoyed painting.
She is survived by her children, Gary Kelley and wife, Pat, of Meridian, Beth Olsen and husband, Jimmie, of Whitney, Linda Kelley (daughter-in-law)of Artesia, New Mexico, Rose Eary and husband, Danny, of Clifton, Karen Sexton of Aquilla, Clifford Kelley and wife, Leia, of Aquilla, Katie Earl and husband, Mark, of Aquilla and Welton Kelley, Jr. and wife, Renee, of Meridian; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. L. "Red" Kelley, a son, David M. Kelley on Dec. 21, 2011, a son-in-law, Ricky Sexton, brother, Frederrick Harbour, mother, Katherine Young Sharkey, father, George Newton Smith and her step-father, H. B. Sharkey.
