George Dermody, age 78, of Meridian, passed away suddenly Thursday morning, January 1, 2015, at his residence.
A memorial service was held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian. Don McMahon, Damon Patterson, and Phil Guinn officiated.
George was born March 16, 1936, in Houston, Texas, where he lived for many years. On October 11, 1980, he married Lucille Mitchell Pryor in Temple, Texas. The couple then moved to Meridian where he operated an upholstery and bar stool manufacturing company. After retiring from that profession, he worked as a grounds keeper for the Bosque Valley Golf Club and later for individuals. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Dermody, of Meridian; a daughter, Regina Miller and husband, Terry, of Stephenville; grandchildren, Justin and Cody Miller, LaJuana Pryor, Emmett Pryor, III and Tiffany Pryor; great-grandchild, Emmett Kelly Wuergler; and a number of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George B. and Margaret Felscher Dermody and a son, Emmett Pryor, Jr.
