Ernest Daughtry

Ernest Dean Daughtry age 80 of Walnut Springs, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 in Glen Rose, Texas.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Peoria Cemetery. Wylie Daughtry will conduct the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs.

Ernest Dean Daughtry was born on May 17, 1937 in Vaughn, Texas to Ernest L. and Lillie Carolina Halbert Daughtry. He attended school until the 7th grade when he had to stop and help the family work. Dean married Annie Jones on July 2, 1960 in Hillsboro, Texas. The couple moved to Bosque County in 1972. During his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and dominoes, spending time with family and playing his guitar. He will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Annie Daughtry of Walnut Springs; son, Michael Daughtry of Walnut Springs; sister, Nelda Beasley of Morgan; brothers, Butch Daughtry and wife, Barbara, of Walnut Springs, Danny Daughtry of Redwood; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Vicki Daughtry; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
