Emma Garcia Alvarez

Emma Garcia Alvarez, age 77, of Clifton, Texas, passed away Thursday evening, April 26, 2018, at a Waco care facility.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2018, in the Clifton Church of Christ with Stephen Countryman officiating.  Burial was in the Meridian Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation was from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers were Albert Alvarez, Jr., Richie Ramirez, Jeremy Alvarez, Nicholas Alvarez, Ricky Alvarez, Aaron Ramirez, Robbie Ramirez, and Anthony Moreno.

Emma was born September 20, 1940, in Big Wells, Texas, a daughter of the late Pedro and Julia Garcia.  She married Elivoro Alvarez and August 14, 1959, in Tahoka, Texas.  He preceded her in death on September 28, 2011.  Emma was a member of the Clifton Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children: Ernesto Alvarez of Cleburne, Susanna Alvarez of Waco, Melinda Lopez of Ft. Worth, Alma Alvarez of Clifton, Rosa Alvarez of Clifton and Ruben Alvarez of Belton; 24 grandchilden and 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother; numerous other relatives and friends.
