Edith Laverne (Roberts) Kelley

Edith Laverne Kelley, 79, of Walnut Springs, passed away, Friday, October 25, 2019, at a Glen Rose nursing and care center.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 31, 2019 (Mrs. Kelley's birthday celebration) at Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs, Texas.  A visitation is planned for Wednesday, October 30th, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., also at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs.  Pallbearers will be Chris Ortega, Randall Griffin, Cody Kelley, Toby Wilkins, Jeffrey Novak, Blake Gomez, Dawson Gomez, Hunter Fowler, Anthony Perez, Bryce Wilkins, Wesson Smith, and Trenton Kelley.

Edith Laverne Roberts was born October 31, 1939 in Austin, Texas to J. B. Owen Roberts and Ida Maples Roberts.  Mrs. Kelley was a long time resident of Walnut Springs, Texas, was a nurses aide, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children, Johnny Kelley and wife, Rachel, of Granbury, Tammy Ortega and husband, Martin, of Walnut Springs, Sheila Novak, and husband, Mike, of Granbury, Betty Blakely and husband, Richard, of Granbury, Terry Kelley and wife, Ashley, of Big Spring; sister, Kathy Hardin of Walnut Springs; 13 Grandchildren; 40 Great-grandchildren; 9 Great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceded in death by her father, Owen Roberts; mother, Ida Roberts; husband, John Kelley; daughter, Bobbie Wilkins; sister, Patsy Tweedle; brothers, Jessie Roberts, Raymond Roberts, Kenneth Roberts; grandchild, Curtis Resecker; great-grandchild, Tanner Resecker; and granddaughter's husbands, Robert Gomez, Chris Fowler, Dustin Dodson, Kevin Kendall.
