Dakotta Thomas

Dakotta Prescher Thomas 18, of Clifton, Texas passed away Sunday December 1, 2013 in Clifton, Texas as a result of an accident near Clifton.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in the Clifton High School Gymnasium with Dr. Jerry Smith and Rev. Richard Creech officiating. Burial will be in the Meridian Cemetery.

Dakotta was born March 29, 1995, in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Clifton High School in May and was attending Blinn College. Dakotta excelled in sports particularly, football, track and power lifting. He also enjoyed playing percussion for years in the band. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and camping. His senior year, he was chosen as the Most Valuable Offensive Player for the Clifton Football team at the annual awards banquet. He was always upbeat, seemed to warm the room with his smile, and he loved Bosque County,his family and many friends.

He is survived by his parents, Toby and Twalla McMurray Thomas of Clifton; sister, Reagan Renee' Thomas of Clifton; brothers, Tanner Lee Thomas and Larrett Ross Thomas, both of Clifton; grandparents, Larry and Neysa McMurray of Meridian and Dr. James and Judy Prescher of Clifton; number of other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jesse and Lucy McMurray, James and Joy Poe, Fritz and Annie Prescher, Floyd and Melbagene Preston and a cousin, Mason McMurray.

Pallbearers were Sean Harvey, Garrett Evans, Ethan Kroll, Cristian Rivera, Shane Sibila, Brandon Benfer, R.L. Pilcher and Talon Cliff. Honorary pallbearers were his Clifton High School Graduating Class of 2013 and close friends.

Memorials may be made to the Dakotta Prescher Thomas Scholarship Fund, c/o Citizens State Bank, Clifton or Whitney, Texas.
