September 27, 1947 — August 31, 2024

Walnut Springs

Cindy S. Moore, of Walnut Springs, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 31, 2024.

She was born Cynthia Suzette Levy to L.D. and Katherine Levy on Sept. 27, 1947 in Houston, Tx and was welcomed home by her big sister Carol.

She attended Harris Elementary, Deady Jr. High, and Milby High School graduating in 1965. She was a member of Park Place Lutheran Church throughout her life in Houston. After high school she worked a few jobs finally landing a position with Honda as an administrative assistant. After a year or so with Honda she was employed by the Mitsubishi Corporation as they were rapidly expanding in the Houston area. Although she only worked for Mitsubishi for a few years, leaving after the birth of her daughter in 1971, she cherished her time there and made many good friends.

Throughout the 1970’s she worked as an executive administrative assistant for a few other companies. In 1980 she decided to move, along with her parents and grandmother to Walnut Springs, our family’s ancestral home after her father’s retirement from Shell Refinery.

After moving to Walnut Springs she worked a variety of jobs but eventually found clerical work with Brown & Root and later Texas Lime.

In 1989 she moved to Austin, TX but returned to Walnut Springs in 1992. She then worked for a number of different companies including Walls Industries and Clifton Molding. She later became employed by Clifton Sunset Lutheran Home and worked there for a number of years. Eventually, she found employment at Glen Rose Nursing and Rehab from which she retired in 2015 to care for her mother.

She loved her family immensely and took great joy in her daughter, granddaughter, and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Katherine and L.D. Levy, and her sister Carol Olson.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth A. Moore, granddaughter Andrea Sanders and her husband Nathan, great-grandchildren Aaron Mills, Carson Mills, Laynee Schenk, and Brazos Sanders, nephews and nieces Philip Linkous (Traci), Diane Hildreth (Dave), Cheryl Heilman (Frank), and their families along with a multitude of extended family and friends.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m at Walnut Springs Memorial Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to BARK rescue kennel in Clifton, TX.
