Charles Wayne Wallace

Charles “Wayne” Wallace age 79, of Meridian, passed away on April 28, 2023 in Clifton, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the Fundamental Baptist Church in Clifton, Texas. Bro. George Watson will officiate. Burial will be in the Lane’s Chapel cemetery near Clifton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pallbearers will be Korey Wallace, Bailey Wallace, Bradley Wallace, Darrell Wallace, Jeff Ogle and Cody Ogle.

Charles Dwayne Wallace was born on August 23, 1943 in Ralls, Texas to Darwin Eugene and Mary Francies Payne Wallace. He grew up and graduated in Crosbyton, Texas. Shortly after high school graduation he enlisted in the Texas National Guard. Following his completion in the Texas National Guard he married the love of his life, Cynthia Odom on December 22, 1961. Wayne worked as an Appliance Technician for Sears for 31 years. Upon his retirement in 1998 he and Cynthia moved to Meridian, Texas to enjoy the quiet life. Often times you could find Wayne hooking up his boat and going to find a place to fish. No matter if he caught any fish or not he always told everyone he caught “36 fish”. He was a faithful member of the Fundamental Baptist Church and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Kenny Wallace and wife, Becky, Denny Wallace and wife, Tanya; grandchildren, Korey and Bailey Wallace; siblings, Larry and Linda Wallace, Payton and Cindy Wallace, Buster and Rosie Wallace, Shirley Ogle, Betty Sue and Gary Hammond; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Darwin Eugene and Mary Francies Payne Wallace; wife, Cynthia Wallace; and sister, Darla Geeslin.
