Charles Marckel, Jr

Charles E. Marckel, Jr., age 92, of Walnut Springs, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 3, 2017, in a Glen Rose care facility.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs, 6th and Norway Streets. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Walnut Springs. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service time. Rev. Mike Edmonson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Clark, Mike Gilson, Chris Robertson, Andrew Brawner, Cameron Robertson, and Gary Collins.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ruby Marckel of Walnut Springs; children, Marilyn Shifflett of Nellysford,VA, Steven Marckel of Charlottesville, VA, Michael Gilson and wife, Christina, of Walnut Springs, Kevin Clark and wife, Patty, of Walnut Springs, Deanna Robertson and husband, Chris, of Walnut Springs; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Marckel of Grandview Missouri; numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Keithman Marckel, father, Charles Edward Marckel, Sr., sisters, Beulah Marckel Cobble and Ruth Marckel Wells, his first wife, Barbara J. Carey
