Charles Clayton "Charley" Buckingham III

Charles Clayton "Charley" Buckingham III was born on December 14, 1939 at home outside of Walnut Springs, Tx to Charles C. Buckingham, Jr. and Margie Ridings Buckingham and passed away on August 5, 2024. Visitation will be at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Graveside services will be at the Walnut Springs Oak Grove cemetery at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

He accepted Christ as his savior when he was 8 years old and was baptized at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church where he was a member until 1975 when he became a member of the Episcopal Church. He started helping his dad with plumbing when he was 12 years old and continued making plumbing his career. He joined the Clifton National Guard in 1956 and served until 1966. He graduated from Walnut Springs high school in 1958. He joined the Masons June 9, 1970 and served until his death. He was a member of the Iredell Lodge 405.

He loved his horses and enjoyed play days and trail rides with his two sons. He also liked martial arts plus his gun collection. He enjoyed going to the gun range and teaching others to shoot.

He married Karen Sheridan on February 14, 1987 and she proceeded him in death on May 16, 2024. They enjoyed traveling to Massachusetts and other states selling antiques and making new friends. 

He is survived by sons, Charles "Chuck" Buckingham & wife Elsa, Paul Buckingham, Step- daughters Katrina Ahrens Castleberg & husband Tony, Erika Sullivan & husband Jeff, grandsons Luke Buckingham, Magnus Ahrens, granddaughter Sorsha Ahrens, brother Gene Buckingham, sisters Sue Buckingham, Connie Malott and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Proceeding him in death is his wife Karen Buckingham, father Charles Buckingham Jr and mother Margie Buckingham.
