Carlos Ortiz Guerrero

Carlos O. Guerrero, Sr., age 79 of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian. Pastor Isreal Abrego will officiate. Burial will be in the Meridian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Lawson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Austin Guerrero, Erick Guerrero, Dion Estrada, Adam Estrada, Albert Guerrero, Carlos Guerrero, Jr., Mark Guerrero, and Justin Guerrero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Brister, John Lira, Jr., Marcus Guerrero, Jonathan Lira, Nathan Lira, Martin Dominguez, and Chad Crawford.

Carlos O. Guerrero was born on June 12, 1940 in Santa Maria Coahuila, Mexico to Franscico Guerrero Ortiz and Juanita Ortiz. On May 14, 1963, he married Concepcion Perez Fernandes. Carlos spent his time working on a ranch as a ranch hand and also worked at Clifton Moulding until his retirement in 2006. He loved spending his free time with his family and visiting his brothers and their families.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Concepcion Guerrero; sons, Mark Guerrero and wife, Carmen, Carlos Guerrero, Jr., and wife, Rosie; daughters, Anna Brister and husband, Kevin, Delia Lira and husband, John, Lupe Warren and husband, Doug, Olivia Guerrero; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Armando Guerrero and wife, Maria, Eduardo Guerrero and wife, Elvia, Oswaldo Guerrero and wife, Elda, Mauro Guerrero, Sr., and wife, Teresa; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Nora Guerrero; and grandson, Matthew Guerrero.
