Bettie Jo Land age 89, of Waxahachie and formerly of Kopperl, passed away on January 11, 2022 in Midlothian, Texas.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Kimball Cemetery near Kopperl. Bro. Richard Creech will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until service time at the cemetery.
Bettie Jo Weaver was born on September 21, 1932 in Leonard, Texas to Joe Presley Weaver who was born in 1876 and Ina Mae "Sunshine" Cooper who was boon in 1900. She married Donald Eugene Land on February 2, 1980 in Greenville, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1988. Bettie loved to tell the story of Grandma Cooper's (Sunshine's) mom riding in a covered wagon from Georgia to Texas when Sunshine was 10. To this day the family still has the little chair that she sat in.

Left to cherish her legacy are her children, Woodie Land and wife, Kathy, Judy Armstrong and husband, Paul, Sandra Lee and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Mike McCurdy, Joey Land, Kristi Love, Jaycee Bartley, Jeremy Uselton; great-granchildren, Carson Land, Wesley Land, Abbie McCurdy, Carter Love, Kaylee Love, Olivia Uselton, Oriana Uselton, Samantha Bartley, Maggie Bartley and Allie Bartley; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joe Presley Weaver and Ina Mae "Sunshine" Cooper; siblings, John Clarence Weaver, Hattie Lon Lumpkins, Helen Fae Reynolds, E.J. McCarley; and granddaughter, Heather Uselton.
