Bernard L. Rhodes, age 83 of Walnut Springs, passed away early Friday morning, September 4, 2015 at a Meridian nursing facility.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 7, 2015 at 10:00 A.M., at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs with Rev. T. J. Joyner officiating. Interment was in the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs. Pallbearers were Rickey Lively, Chuck Tweedle, Jeff Tweedle, Kenny Tweedle, Tommy Mitchell, and Bobby Mitchell.
Bernard was born February 16, 1932, in Walnut Springs. He was a son of the late Clyde Rhodes and Mary Wagner Rhodes. Bernard worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his children, Randy Rhodes and wife, Tammy, of Clifton, Beverly Yunek and husband, Tony, of Walnut Springs, Mickey Rhodes and wife, Leatha, of Glen Rose, and David Rhodes of Walnut Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Rhodes of Cranfills Gap, Dylan Wayne Yunek of Walnut Springs, Tyler Wayne Yunek of Walnut Springs, Kaelyn Dawn Clark of Walnut Springs, Brian Day, Jr. of Glen Rose, Amanda Mojica of Commerce; brothers, Max Rhodes of Glen Rose, Johnny Rhodes of Fort Worth; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Rhodes; his wife, Vivian L. Patterson Rhodes; brothers, Billy Frank Rhodes and Thurman Rhodes; and sister, Mary Clydean Rhodes.
