Bennett Bryan Behringer, a beloved member of the Meridian community, was born on June 1, 1966, in Meridian, Texas. He passed away peacefully in his hometown on November 9, 2024, at the age of 58. Bennett's life was characterized by his dedication to family, friends, and a career in the food and retail industry that spanned years.
He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1984 subsequently moved back to Meridian in 1985. Bennett began his career at a young age in the food and retail business, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to service. He managed Family Dollar in Meridian for many years until its closure and later transferred to Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store and David's Grocery Store in Clifton and Meridian.. His colleagues and customers alike appreciated his friendly demeanor and willingness to help others.
Beyond his professional life, Bennett found joy in watching television and spending time with his beloved cats. He cherished moments of relaxation and companionship, evoking a sense of warmth and comfort in his daily life. Ben also found great joy in attending to and taking care of his dear mother, Rebecca Behringer. Taking her across the country, eating out, or grocery shopping. You could always find those two together.
Bennett is survived by his mother, Rebecca Behringer; his brother, Robert Behringer, and his wife, Patricia; as well as numerous aunts, cousins, other relatives, and many friends who will remember him fondly for his kindness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Behringer, and his brother, Earl Russell Behringer.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Lawson Funeral Home. A memorial service in honor of Bennett Bryan Behringer will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian, Texas. The service will begin at 10:00 AM., providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a spirit that will be dearly missed.
