Barbara Lee Burris, age 79, of Kopperl, passed away early Friday morning, July 1, 2016, at her residence after an extended illness.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, July 3, 2016, in the Fulton Cemetery near Walnut Springs, Texas. Pastor Joe Wells will officiate.
Barbara was born February 27, 1937, in Electra, Texas, daughter of Lucy Hobdy and Davis Hobdy.
She married C. A. Burris on September 17, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She and her husband moved to Ft. Worth and later to Kopperl in 1970. C. A. preceded her in death on March 11, 1984. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Kopperl First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Stasey and husband, Joe, of Bluffdale, Karen Faulkner and husband, Zack, of Kopperl; sons, Jimmy Burris and wife, Faye, of Wichita Falls, Richard Derrick and wife, DeAnne, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Brad Hutson, Neal Derrick and Dayna Derrick; great-grandchildren, Nathan Hutson, Dalton Hutson, Jordan Derrick, Carman Hutson and Presley Derrick; sister, Donna Evans and husband, B. D., of Springtown; brothers, Eddie Hobdy of Benbrook and Ernest Hobdy and wife, Margie, of Irving; number of other relatives and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by parents, Lucy and Davis Hobdy; a grandson, Chad Derrick.
