Anna Lorean Grimland Davis was born at home in Cranfills Gap, TX on March 10, 1931 to BJA Grimland and Clara Honea Grimland. She passed away on March 9, 2024, at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton, 1 day short of her 93rd birthday.
Lorean attended and graduated from Cranfills Gap schools. On Feb 10, 1952 she was united in marriage to Thomas Earl Davis of Meridian, TX at St Olaf’s Lutheran Church, Cranfills Gap, TX. They were blessed with 2 children, Linda Gail and Donna Sue. Lorean spent many hours at her sewing machine, where she was an accomplished seamstress. She made clothes for her girls, including majorette uniforms, prom gowns, spur of the moment clothes for a special event, as well as business suits for her husband. They lived in Meridian, TX, Amarillo, TX, Round Rock, TX and then moved back to Meridian, TX upon retirement. Lorean retired from DPS, Criminal Intelligence division in Austin, TX where she had worked for 11 1/2 years.
Lorean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, daughter Linda, brother and sister-in-law Floyd and Eddie Grimland, nephews Bruce Grimland, Jim Brown, wife Lois and Tommy Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Donna and husband Don, 2 grandchildren: David Maness and wife Brittney, Dustin Maness and wife Alexia, and 3 great-grandsons: Dawson Maness, Denver Maness and Denton Maness, and a number of nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 12th at 12:30 pm under the direction of Lawson Funeral Home at the Meridian Cemetery.
