Amy Dugan Slaton, a beloved resident of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2024. Born on May 10, 1974, in Royal Oak, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of Hugh and Janice Dugan. Amy’s life was marked by her dedication to family, her successful career in accounting, and her unwavering spirit.

From a young age, Amy showed an incredible capacity for love and connection. She moved to Plano at the age of 12, where she attended Shepton High School, forging lifelong friendships that enriched her life. Her journey took her to Lexington, Ohio, where she balanced being a dedicated student and an employee at Snow Trails ski resort. Despite her busy schedule, Amy always found time for those she cherished most.

At the age of thirty, Amy became a mother to two wonderful children, Brockton and Chloe. She poured her heart into her role as a mother, ensuring that her children felt loved, valued, and treasured. Holidays were a special time for Amy; there was never a holiday that went undecorated under her watchful eye. She had a joyful spirit, embodied by her love for crossword puzzles, often found immersed in one at any given moment.

Faith was a cornerstone of Amy's life. A devout woman, she nurtured a strong relationship with God and instilled these values within her children. Her faith guided her actions and provided a foundation of love and support for her family.

Amy is now reunited in peace with her father, Hugh Dugan, her mother, Janice Dugan, and her father-in-law, John Slaton. She leaves behind her children; Brockton and Chloe, Husband; Andrew, brothers; Scott (Karen) and Heath (Kathleen) Dugan, her aunts; Joyce, Carol, and Judy, uncles; Gerald and Johnny, along with many cherished nephews, nieces, and cousins whose lives she touched deeply.

In honor of her memory, the family kindly asks that those wishing to express their condolences consider making a donation to local children’s hospitals, animal hospitals, or churches, reflecting Amy’s compassionate spirit and her unwavering commitment to helping others.

While Amy may no longer be with us, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
