Our Beloved Matriarch, Ama Lee Lawrence (Granny), 93, of Meridian, Texas, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 8th, 2025.
Granny was born August 3, 1931, in Brownwood, Texas, to Albert and Mable Trowbridge. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Windell Orell (W.O.) Lawrence; children, Windell Keithley Lawrence, Patricia Ann Kelley, Charles Douglas Lawrence; great-grandson, Alex Justin (AJ) Kelley; siblings, Dalton Lowell Trowbridge, Clarence ‘Hubert’ Trowbridge, James Douglas (JD) Trowbridge, Eva ‘Aileen’ Russell, Charles Howard Trowbridge.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Kay Lawrence, Jerry Don Lawrence; sister, Betty Louise Smith; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended family.
Granny had many passions in life that included, her church, Bosque County Cowboy Church, quilting and sewing, watching her Westerns, guiding her family to Jesus, bossing around her grandchildren with entertaining empty threats, and caring deeply for anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. Granny, especially, loved her canning, and spent countless hours teaching anyone who would listen how too.
Granny’s quick wit and sarcastic nature will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at Bosque County Cowboy Church, 7023 Hwy 6, Meridian, TX 76665. Viewing begins at 10am, Service begins at 11:30am. Burial will follow at 4pm, at Blanket Cemetery in Blanket, TX.
