Alvin Cecil Wasden, age 74, of Arlington, Texas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 11, 2014, in Arlington.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian, Texas with Rev. Richard Creech, officiating. Interment was in the Morgan Cemetery, Morgan, Texas. A visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lawson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Lucas, Mark Lucas, Terry Lucas, Alex Anders, Garrett Rohrer, and Ken Wasden.
Mr. Wasden was born August 18, 1939 in Greenville, Alabama to Andre Jackson Wasden and Vada Thomas Wasden. After completing his school years and acquiring knowledge of the automotive industry, Mr. Wasden married Betty Lane Brown in 1961 in Greenville, Alabama. The couple lived in various areas before making Arlington, Texas their home, where they were long time residents. Betty Wasden preceded him in death on August 10, 2010. Mr. Wasden was an automotive mechanic and a Baptist.
Survivors include his children: Keith Wasden of Arlington; Jackie Lucas and husband, Mark, of Burleson; Pamela Michelle Lacy of Arlington, Derek Wasden and wife, Cyndy, of Arlington; Sharlotte Rohrer and husband, Gary, of Meridian; and Shawn Wasden and wife, Ellie, of Arlington; 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren; also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
